The new MP-68 Blade moves away from the cut muscle design that the MP-67 had and resembles the MP-37 with the muscle back developing from the toe area. The muscle back lines and edges however are smoother on the MP-68 than the MP-37 and some in Japan have said it reminds them of the classic MP-14 with its curved muscle back and sharp toe. Mizuno has also followed suit with its 2009 design guidlines by placing the running bird logo on the sole and the model MP-68 with new MP logo in the toe corner. The 0verall head and face is very compact and coupled with the thick muscle provide the purest feel of any Mizuno grain flow forged blade.
For the last several years pre release Mizuno head only sets have popped up far before the official release date. Can the biomechanics of golf teach you how to build a fundamentally sound golf swing?
An important physical principal in golf biomechanics is the conservation of angular momentum…the scientific principal that states the angular momentum of an object remains constant as long as no external force or moment acts on that object.

Conservation of angular momentum can be clearly seen in the figure skater who performs a stationary spin on ice. As she brings her arms closer to her body, she spins faster – moving her arms away from her body causes her to slow down.
To take full advantage of the biomechanics of golf you must give angular momentum time to build up during the downswing or you are fighting the laws of physics – do not rush the downswing!
By allowing angular momentum to gradually build during the downswing will create an incredible amount of club head speed to be delivered to the ball at impact – this is why the pros look so effortless when they swing – they are taking full advantage of golf biomechanics and the conservation of angular momentum.

Firstly there was Lee Westwood’s much talked about “Secret Plan.” When the dust settled he admitted, “Okay, if you really want to know, the secret was making everyone else think I had a secret, when I didn’t really have one.” He had the rest of the field nervously waiting to find out what the plan was and not concentrating on their own plans. Then there was the Lee’s personal success story of how he regained his form when he explained that. “The reason for the big turnaround in my confidence and stuff like that was catching my caddie, Billy Foster, at the beach party on Tuesday evening when he probably had enough Heineken to tell me what he really thought.” Lee went on saying, “He said I’d not been myself recently. I’d paid too much attention to other people around me. He told me I’d been out here 16 years, which is longer than all three of them (McIlroy, Ross Fisher and Martin Kaymer) put together and have won 30 tournaments, which is more than they’ve all won. I suspect that Billy’s comments had a much more positive golf psychology impact on Lee than any negative one his “Secret” had on his opponents. Having said that, his anticipation of the disadvantage his “Secret” would have on them would clearly help improve his own state of confidence. He certainly seemed to think it had a detrimental effect on Rory McIlroy.
That leads me nicely on to Rory’s apparent golf psychology disaster after playing with Lee in the first round at Dubai. Whatever impact that had on his game, it was his putting that let him down, if you consider coming second at Dubai and Second in the Order of Merit a let-down. In contrast, it was Lee’s phenomenal putting that made the difference between him and Rory and that was what really sealed his victory.
